Pretty Maids

Here are two aprons that I made for a shower we had for my two cousins last weekend.
They are both getting married in the next four months and they are sisters!! Family fun had by all.

I am sure you remember seeing an apron like the one on the right in a previous post but the one on the left is a new creation. I am sure there will be more to come in the future. I hope to make some that are out of bright fabrics...we will see.

*New* Dressers

Here is the second post with stuff that I did over the 4th of July weekend.

I had these two dressers that were brown with brass knobs that just needed some freshening up in preparation for going in the orange room that was just painted. I think white will look so much better in there than brown, don't you agree! :)

Here is the two drawer dresser before the paint job.

Here is the dresser in process in the garage, good thing we had such great weather so I could sand and paint in the garage without sweating too much.

Here is the finished product in the room. The knobs don't look that different but they are brushed chrome. I hope to one day put colorful ceramic ones on but I am still trying to find what I like.

Here is the six drawered dresser before being transformed. Here you can see the shine of those dated pulls, circa 1070's.

In process sanding to be sure the paint sticks, good thing my handyman husband has a hand sander.

Finally here is the finished product. I just love this! It looks better in person and will look great in the orange room. It won't be living there until we rearrange some other things but it looks great in the guest room as well.

Foot Fetish

My sewing machine is an oldie but goodie Singer that I bought from my High School when they stopped offering sewing classes. It didn't come with all of the different sewing feet that makes sewing not only easier but fun. I finally decided to buy some for myself that will make quilting and sewing so much easier. Some are around 30 dollars so when they were on sale so I jumped and bought four of them!
I got the zipper foot, the walking foot, the 1/4" quilting foot, and the free-motion quilting foot.
I am so excited to use all of them and think it will make sewing some projects so much easier. Let's hope so.

Fourth of July Weekend.

It was a very productive three day weekend with no work and no solid plans. I was determined to get some things finished since my craft day was not as productive as I would have liked only getting a few things finished that I wanted to. Oh well that happens in life, right?

Here is a recap of that unproductive craft weekend.
First I am going to work on projects that I am making for others, either orders or gifts. check.
I have a few more stationary items I want to make. still more to come. I got a nice paper cutter to help the process.
I have a tee-shirt quilt that I think I started 3 years ago, time to finish that. nope.
A pair of pants to hem.
check.
A baby swaddle blanket that can no longer be used by the owner it was supposed to go to. nope.
Some pillows. fabric is cut...now time to sew.
There is always some organization that needs to go on. and on and on and
on.

So on to what I did this past weekend. I painted the third bedroom formally white now orange.
Here is the room pink! Tinted primers are fun.
Almost finished...it's orange.
All finished and with a new light fixture. Love it! Still getting used to how bright it is but we love it.

I also painted two wooden chests of drawers white, and just finished up on that this morning (more DIY pics later on this).
I am so glad to have that finished...one more thing to check off the long list of things to do around the house. whew.

YUDU

It is here!!!

I have finally went out a few weekends ago and purchased the YUDU that I have been wanting. It was on sale (plus $50 Michaels card) so I went for it!

I have yet to take it out of the box but I am so excited to start using it. Here come tee-shirts, bags, onsies, etc. Now just to have some free time and some ideas of what to put on these tee-shirts, bags etc.

Any ideas?
