Floral Bibs

I had an order for two girl bibs and came up with these fabric/thread combos, gotta love a little pink for a girl. I never get tired of making these bibs, They are so sweet for that new little baby in your life.
The Rose bib I tried to pick part of a fabric that had a rose-like flower on it and then matched the thread to the fabric. The name gets a bit more lost that I would have liked it to and maybe I should have tried a contrasting color but in person it is much easier to see.
The Vivienne bib is made from my all time favorite fabric but I tried to cut from more of the pink parts of the fabric and the pink letters worked out well on this one since there was that cream void space at the bottom. I love that name, something you don't often see.

This is going to be a hot week and I hope to do some sewing and a lot of sleeping. How is it that being hot makes me so tired.

New Fabric/New Find Friday #113

On your mark....get set...go!! These fabrics remind me of racing! I was going to use the two in the middle for my son's first birthday party (it was a car/racing theme) but I didn't end up spending or having the time to do it.
The fabric at the top is one you have seen before. It was used for the travel bag I made a while back for one of the side pockets. Like I said the two middle fabrics I was going to make a banner out of. I might still do this down the road. The last fabric I think is a great neutral floral pattern. I think this would make a great breastfeeding cover.
Here we are with a side view. You can tell here that the floral at the bottom is not white white but more of a cream on black. Not as bold as a white on black.

Have a wonderful weekend...stay cool.

A Load of Screen Printed Shirts

One day I decided to screen print a bunch of shirts and onesies that I had in stock. I came up with some ideas of what I wanted to put on each one and then just went for it. I actually had these on my Etsy page and took them to a sale where I sold most of them. I only have a few of these left but of course would be happy to make one for you if you so desire.

I am totally in love with this little recycling onesie. I have a friend who is nuts about recycling and maybe she will like something like this for her new little one on the way. I sold this one but have plans to screen print a few more.
Mustaches are all the rage now with boys being little men. I think this is so cute and I actually have another one to screen print soon that I am going to put little man above the mustache.
I think this is just a sweet little birdie for a sweet little girl. Simple and sweet.
What little boy doesn't want to rock out with a guitar on their shirt?
Sorry the picture is sideways. I love this pink butterfly on the pink onesie. So soft and sweet.
My little guy loves diggers and all kinds of trucks and when he is a bit older I am sure he will love to wear a shirt like this.

This moose is just too cute! He has a bell on him and could be a Christmas reindeer or just a northern moose.
Last but not least there is the owl tee-shirt. Whoooo doesn't love a little owl on their shirt. I have another friend who loves owls and I think this will be right up her alley.

I am having so much fun with screen printing and I have a stack of shirts and onesies that I am going to screen print this week. Any designs that you would like to see?

Next House Project....Invisible TV

Well the sickness has almost left our house. I hate how summer colds seem to last forever. You know what happens when you are sick and laying around your house? Look around and find a million projects you need/want to do. So for the sake of keeping myself honest and being excited about some of the ideas I thought I would share them with you.
It seems as if there is always a running tally of things to be done, as I am sure you know all about if you own a home. These are not very exciting but need to be done, like...

fixing basement corner leak,
landscaping (need to dig corner and fix that before putting in plants),
under cabinet lights (which we bought just need to put in)
insulation in the walls (not sure if we are going to do this but would help babies sleep so we can walk around our house at night without being afraid of waking babies),
living room drapes (I have had the fabric for NINE years and it is what the house color scheme is based on...need to get done),
big boy room (almost ready to show that one off!!!)
Makes changes to baby room (get new bed, and wait until after baby is born to change fabrics if it is a girl).

Then there are the big projects that will be down the road (maybe like two years away) but are really exciting to think about and plan for.

We are not huge tv watchers but love to watch movies and when not watching the tv in some form like to have it hidden. Right now we have a nice cabinet that it sits in closed but the room it is in is so cold that I would love to have an electric fireplace. SOOO my big dream is to have a fireplace and then put the tv into the wall above it and hang two way glass (mirror) over it. That way when not in use it looks like a mirror but when you turn the tv on you can see the screen.

This picture above is what I am talking about. See how you can see the tv screen but imagine the tv being off, you would just think this is a nice mirror.
Electric Fireplace Cabinet — 5115 BTU, 38in., White, Model# FP-11-19-08-38-WHT | Buy Item# 122591 now for only $259.99
Here is an image of an electric fireplace piece like I would have in the room. This would actually be something that you would plug in and would blow heat out of that vent while looking like a fire. The piece of furniture would double as a storage area, heater, pretty fireplace, and mantel.

Here is another image of a fireplace with a tv above it. I don't want the tv to be that obvious. Of course we will still have to buy a flat screen tv to put into the wall. The box that the tv would be in would actually be in the garage (on the other side of the wall is the garage) so I wouldn't want it to be a huge old tv.

Then the tv cabinet and old tv would go down into the basement for kiddos to watch old vhs movies when need be. We are so not there yet.

So this project is a long time coming but doesn't it sound cool?! I am really excited about this idea and hope that one day it happens.
