Vinyl Letters

This is my second vinyl project that I have been able to use my silhouette machine for and I just helped install it last week. I really love the way it looks on the wall. With the flash off, the colors are a bit wrong but you still get the idea. The wall is a light blue color and the words are all in white vinyl. This was made to the specifications of J's mama and she loves the way it looks too. BONUS!

I am sure you will see more vinyl projects from me once we get the basement finished and start decorating not only the basement but the baby's room.

I also hope to one day get pictures of the first vinyl projects that I made for a friend. I cut out some letters for them to use as a template for their bbq grill. I hope it looks great...can't wait to see it after they finish it.

Baby Girl F and Update On Baby E

This order for a onesie and three burp cloths was for a baby shower two weekends ago out of town. This client said that baby F was going to be a girl and wanted to use the striped fabric. As we know I love the stripe fabric that she choose for baby F and was excited to use it once again.
This is the first time someone has ordered three matching burp cloths and I love them together! I think having a matching set is great and am glad someone else agrees.
Since this fabric has so many different colors in it I thought it would be best to keep more pink on the F for a girl instead of the green or blue. I love the way it turned out with the brown outline and little bits of green poking out.

This order is from the mom of baby E that I posted about here. I am always so touched by babies in general...if you stop and think about it having a baby is quite a feat, you have to get pregnant, then carry the baby for 9 months with no problems and then have a safe delivery. It is amazing to me how often that does not happen and people do not talk about it. With Mom's permission I want to share quickly a picture of Elias, aka baby E, who was born at 25 weeks and was 1.5 pounds. Mom says "he is now 5 months old and weighs 7.5 pounds and doing great!!". What a miracle that this baby was allowed to join this family here on earth and everyone gets to learn from the experience. Doesn't he just look so sweet and check him out in his onesie!! :)
We had something similar happen in our family, a cousin had her baby at about the same number of weeks and everyone in the family pulled together to pray for them and he is doing really well and about to have another sibling join him! What great things God does for us.

New Fabric/New Find Friday #25

I am sorry that I did not have a chance to post this "Friday post" yesterday, it was just one of those days full of work, a dr. visit, a haircut and the like.
I was saving this post for a special time and I guess now is that time. I have been drooling over this fabric for a while and now they are being discontinued so I bought a bunch of it to be sure I had enough to make things for a baby's room.
Don't these fabrics look perfect in the orange room?! They are a bit girly and we have no idea if we are having a boy or a girl but I could not pass them by. One day we will have a girl and she will love this fabric....I will make her. ;)
I just fell in love with the giraffes and elephants, they are just the cutest thing ever. The room will have a lot of animal silhouettes so I think these fabrics are perfect.
Don't you worry I already have a plan for if we have a boy...the same fabrics but in more of a "boy" colorway! I have yet to buy any of this because it is not on the market yet but I might just have to in the next few months before the baby comes.

Have a great weekend and stay cool!

New Fabric/New Find Friday #24

Sooo I will admit this might be one of the least exciting Friday posts I have written so far I apologise in advance. I have had a horrible experience with a fabric buying group....they took my money and ran leaving me with no new fabrics. I have not been out buying because I have been so busy so I have no new fabrics to show you this week. I am sure there are some of you that are happy about this..."I am sick of seeing fabrics, show me something else that's new". I have heard you and have some new things to show you.

My new camera....
I am so excited about this camera, I know..."who cares about your new camera" but I hope to start taking better pictures of my products with this. I am still learning how to use it but I love most pictures that come out of this camera, so crisp. Be on the lookout for some better pictures from me in the future, lets hope.
My new silhouette cutter...

Again maybe everyone is saying WHO CARES but hey wait a minute this is COOL! I can do so much with this machine, I can cut vinyl (like above), paper, hopefully fabric etc. This will make doing my etching much easier than cutting out by hand all of those small letters. I have also done a vinyl project for a friend but it is still awaiting instillation in her home so that will come later. I think this will also be something that will help me cut my note cards more precisely and give me more options on how to create them. I hope to have some fun projects to show you soon.

Thank you for humoring me by reading this post. I hope you all have a great weekend, stay cool.

Polka-Dot Keychain

I had a friend order this key chain at one of my showcase events and I am so glad that she did because it was a lot of fun to make. It travelled with me across the country twice as we took some vacations and it was the only thing I was able to get done while travelling.
Again these are bad pictures because I have not figured out how to use this new camera...lots of flash and I am sure the white background didn't help much.
She asked for green and white polka-dots with black letters and I love how it turned out. (Take my word for it since these are not the best pics).
Ick picture but maybe you can see the polka dots a bit better. How cute are they!? T, I hope you enjoy this and use it until it falls apart (a good 10+ years lets hope).

New Fabric/New Find Friday #23

Ok these might not go together but I just pick up these fabrics the other day....some go with some fabrics that I already have and others are just too cute too pass up.
If you were paying attention I already used the second fabric, the grey with blue flowers for a breastfeeding cover that was posted about yesterday. I am really loving orange and totally love the last fabric, that orange, pink and brown floral. How fun! You always need a black and white dot and I have just the perfect fabric to go with the dot.
Now I just hope to have some time in the next few months to get some new sewing projects finished. We are still working on the basement, lets hope that goes faster than I think.

Basket For Baby

This is a basket that I put together for a friend of mine who is adopting a baby from Ethiopia. She is doing some fundraising and instead of just donating I thought it would be more fun to give a basket of baby items for her to auction off. Feel free to go to her blog to read more about her Pancake breakfast and to hear more about her adoption.
I have this new digital camera that I still can not figure out so next time I guess it is time to finally use my new digital SLR. Scary! Anyway I made a breastfeeding cover, a burp cloth, a taggie blanket, a onesie, a pair of baby leggings and a sachet.
Here is a closer look at the taggie blanket, neutral back with an ABC baby print on the front.
Here is the onesie with the cow jumping over the moon. I think it is so cute!

I wish them good luck on Saturday and can not wait to hear more about their adoption process.

New Fabric/New Find Friday #22

I love love love these new fabrics and it took me no time to cut into these fabrics. Two of them have already been used and posted on Wednesday here. I love how this grouping looks together also, you could easily combine these together in a large quilt project or pair them off into sets of two or three for aprons or other various projects.
These are probably better pics of the fabrics than on the last post, I still have not gotten used to my new camera. It is the second new camera, my old one broke and I share it with my parents (I know I know strange) so I had to go out and get a new one, it is just a point and shoot my other new camera is a digital SLR and I have used it but am still learning. Anyway, aren't these just so fun?! I like them all for different reasons but maybe why I like them all is because I love blue and am have a second love affair with pink. I also love the rich combination of the blue with browns. MMM reminds me of chocolate.
Well I am just pooped and we are starting to work on the basement more so you might see a few projects from me but might be a once a week sighting. I am feeling overwhelmed...but I guess in a good way.

Triple Shower Presents

We had a family shower for three of my cousins who are having babies...and they are sisters. FUN! I made each one a breastfeeding cover and onesie with the baby's initial on it. One of the girls is waiting to find out what she is having so I just put a question mark on it instead. I will put on the letter of the baby name ones baby arrives and is named.
These are in due date order, cousin #1 is having a baby very soon and does not know what she is having. I thought this print was cute enough for mom but does not scream boy or girl to me. Cousin #2 is due second and she is having a baby girl who's name starts with L. I just found this fabric recently and it just makes me happy, I love the pinks, orange, and blue mixed together. Cousin #3 is due last and is having a boy who's name will start with B. I loved this print as well, blue for boy but still fun for mom to wear around town.
These last two fabrics will be showing up again on my Friday post so be looking for them again. I hope the new mama's enjoy these and so do the little ones.
