New Fabric/New Find Friday #21

These fabrics do not go together as one grouping like some of the other sets I have posted here. I picked these out at the same time and didn't to have three or four different posts. The black and green fabric at the bottom was something that I had been looking for and had not seen...I have something in mind for that fabric already.
I really love the brown and white floral it is so different but neutral. Who doesn't love those big bold polka dots that go with my favorite fabrics (#11 and 12 at the bottom of the blog). The pink swirl goes with some other fabrics that I have used before also.
We will see what these turn into...I think a few of these are too small for breastfeeding covers so maybe some onesies or maybe parts of aprons.
Whew this heat is making me not want to sit in front of my hot sewing machine. I need this vacation up north to cool off so I can come back and get to work.

Finished Giveaway Cover

Monday I mailed this cover to our giveaway winner and I hope that she likes it! I think the fabric is so cute and now I am wishing that I had more of it so that I can use it to make a skirt for myself.
Here is another view of it, I just could not get any pictures that I loved today.
I am off for another few days vacation with my family this time. See you back here in a week. Don't worry I will not leave you alone, I have a few posts coming up.

New Fabric/New Find Friday #20

I think it is good to have a few fabrics for special occasions and while shopping a few weeks ago I found these...which I think are perfect back up for the holidays. We have the shamrocks and the stars (as in stars and stripes) and a cute bunny print that would be great for Easter.
The other two are not so much for holidays but are more of a theme than any of the other fabrics that I have. The one with the little girls on it is vintage patterns on pink fabric...not sure what I am going to use this for yet but how cute is it!? The last one has fruit on it and I could see how perfect this would be for a kitchen.
I have a few ideas on what to use these for, maybe some hand towels for the holidays or maybe as an applique for a onesie (every baby needs a St. Patty's day onesie). ;) What would you use them for?

Sew Mama Sew Giveaway- Winner!

The giveaway has come to an end and I am so surprised by all of the comments that I received and I am so glad that all of you stopped by. There are a few comments that I would like to respond to so please be patient if you asked a question, I will get back to you soon.

I was shocked that only two people that I knew commented and the rest were new people!!! I also have three new followers (and I hope more who will come back once in a while). Thank you!

Ok on to the winner, random.org choose....#9.
The winner is deserae who said... "I would choose #1. Very pretty!" Congratulations Deserae you will should have already received an email from me.

Some interesting facts about this giveaway were the number of people who chose each fabric. I love them all but of course I have my favorites too but it was great to hear which ones you liked. The fabric with the most votes was #2 the brown with the yellow dots, the second most voted for was # 4 the striped fabric with circles between the stripes. Fabric third in the running was #1, the feminine pink floral (I love that one!), and last but not least was #3 the green and blue hounds tooth. Maybe that one was too bold for everyone.

New Fabric/New Find Friday #19

These might not be as exciting as the usual Fabric Friday but hey...when you need a solid you need a solid. These are in my stash just waiting for me to get the guts and time to make a quilt.
These three I have a lot of yardage and would be so great for the back of a quilt. I might have to think about making one for when guests come or something...humm
These are smaller pieces that I have that would be great as a solid bottom to a skirt or edging around a top or even solid squares on a quilt.
We will see what I come up with for these. OOHHH They could also be good backing for pillows.

Need To Burp?

I worked on some burp cloths last week with the fabrics I used a few weeks ago on the flower pins. I have a lot more in mind for burp cloths but thought this was enough for now.
Cute matching sets! I have a few more sets that I would like to sew but I thought I should sell some of these before having 15+ on hand and no one to buy them.
I am going to be on Vacation from Thurs-Tues, but I have some scheduled to pop up while I am gone. Be back soon with some more fun items, humm what can I do in the car on a 10 hour trip to and from?

New Fabric/New Find Friday #18

Alright I lied, those of you who actually read this blog know that these are not "new" but I did not have a chance to post them before I posted the flower pin pics. SO here are some "newer" fabrics...enjoy!
They are much easier to see the fabrics in this pic below. I love that brown floral, second from the bottom, it is one of my new favs.
Next week I will be posting a few things I made using these fabrics. I hope someone loves them enough to buy them and use them.
Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all of the Moms out there. I wish there was more time in the day so that I could have made something special for my two moms, maybe next year!

Custom Order For A Friend

A good friend ordered a flower pin after seeing mine on my purse but she wanted purple and more monochromatic to go with her purse.
I love the grey/blue and purple pattern with the purple background and how great does it look on her purse!
She also wanted a soft taggie blanket after seeing the one I a made for my great niece. Hope her baby boy loves it.
I forgot to take pics so I hope that these phone pics she sent will do for all of you. I am still learning how to use my new camera but might be busting it out soon for some shots to post here.
