New Fabric/New Find Friday #29

I have an exciting and great new find for this week. I have been using some cute but standard labels for my sewing items for the past few years and I think they are super cute but now that I have run out of them it is time to look into something different. I was looking around and found these custom printed labels which I think is a great idea.

I was going to get other fabric labels but could not decide what to put on them, just my blog or my business name. When I saw these total custom fabric labels I was sold. I used the same design as I use for my business card and other business items. I can not wait to start sewing these to my items.

Custom Birthday Shirt

It has been killing my cousin that I have yet to make something for her two girls and that I was not doing this when they were babies. I think a lot of things I do can be made for the big kids too but I have yet to do anything for big kids yet. She wanted a shirt for her youngest daughter's 3rd Birthday and this was my chance.
We talked about what she wanted and since it is not cost prohibitive to use my YUDU for every name I do on a shirt/onesie I was trying to think of any other way to get her name on the shirt with the 3 without using the YUDU. I remembered that I can print on fabric so why not make my own fabric with a design on it to use for the 3. I could not find a pink shirt so the 3 became pink with her name running through it in different colors. After viewing the preview she asked for the name larger one time in black. I LOVE the way it turned out.
I think the Birthday Girl loved it too!
Baby C I can not believe you are 3, Happy Belated Birthday!

Dots To Match A Bag

A few months back a friend of mine asked me to make her a breastfeeding cover and asked for it to match this diaper bag. She wanted something black and green and dots like the changing pad that goes with it. I hunted everywhere and could not find anything like this around. We ended up going with this fun black and white circle pattern to make the cover.
She ended up having a boy and when I was at the fabric store a month or so ago I found this black fabric with bright green dots! PERFECT! I bought enough to make her some burp cloths as a little gift to the little one and delivered them last week. I hope she was happy with them and maybe a little surprised. I know they are not a perfect match to the bag but I still think it is cute.
I know, I know the picture sucks. I was lazy and running out the door that day and did not have time to take another picture. I will try to get better.

New Fabric/New Find Friday #28

This week's new find is not really a new find but more like a new addition or a new improvement. Please note the new pages that are now listed above this post. See image below for fun help pointing them out. :)

I have been wanted to have a page on my blog for a while that would allow people to place orders easily with paypal or through etsy. I am still working on it but in the meantime I did create some pages for my blog to get me closer to my goal. These pages are very basic right now but please check back for more in the coming weeks.

The pages that have been added are About Me, Contact, FAQ, and Products. Please feel free to email me or comment with some questions that you feel that I need to answer in order to make things more understandable for everyone looking at my blog and wanting to buy an item.

Happy Blogging to all of you and who else is glad that it is Friday!!!

Two Covers for a Cousin

My cousin just had baby number three and wanted to order a breastfeeding cover for herself so I was happy to make one for her. She also needed one for her friend who was having a baby and so we struck up a deal (with her losing her job and me giving these mostly away to family for shower gifts I was happy to do so).
Here is the one that I made for her friend, cute stripe with some circles in between the stripes.
I let her pick out the fabrics from a couple of choices and I love the ones she picked for herself. I have had this blue one since the beginning and am happy it is going to a good home. It looks like it might be time for me to update my footer at the bottom of this blog with new fabrics.
I did not have enough fabric to do a burp cloth for her so I sent one along that I had that I thought she might like. I hope she did!

Oh did I also mention she was so nice as to lend me all of her maternity clothing! I am super excited to be big enough to wear them.

Cute Leggings for Cute Kiddos

I have finally delivered some orders I had from my last show for a few pairs of baby leggings. Two for twin girls and one for a new little boy.
These are for twin girls who I am sure would love to match but I did not have any matching pink in stock. I think they will look enough alike but still get to be different. I wonder if they will fight over who gets to wear the polka dots or stripes. humm
Here is a pair of leggings that I made for a friend's little boy. He is still small and of course it is summer time so I am sure he will not be wearing them for a while but I think these would be great for fall and learning to walk/crawl. Great protection for those legs while hanging out in a onesie.
I hope to make a few more pairs of these and even match them up with some onesies that I would like to make and have in stock. Wouldn't it be cute to have a set? I might have to invest in some long sleeved onesies to go with these.

New Fabric/New Find Friday #27

This post is a new find and a new fabric all rolled into one. I have seen this chalk cloth is several on-line fabric stores and think that it is a great idea! What a great combination, chalkboard and fabric, you can do so much with it.
I have yet to by some but I have a few great ideas for what to do with it when I do. Some of those ideas have to do with organization, I hope to be doing a lot of organization in the fall...stay tuned.

One-Year Onesie

A good friend's second baby is having her first birthday this month. I made a little onesie at my friend's request last week and I like the way it turned out.
She choose this fabric which I thought was a great pick and we were going back and forth as to what color to make the letters. We both liked the idea of pink but we were not sure it would show up over the 1. So after I had the 1 on the shirt I decided it had to have brown stitching which means it HAD to have brown letters. :) The only problem with that is that I did not have any brown ink for my YUDU and didn't want to go to the store to buy more. So I made my own! I think it turned out pretty good.

I can't wait to see picture of the big one year old in her onesie on her birthday!

New Fabric/New Find Friday #26

Did you have a good 4th of July? Sorry about not being around last Friday hope you didn't miss me too much. I took the four day weekend to catch up on some sewing and to just hang around the house and catch up with family and friends.

I have a few projects I have been thinking about so I went out to hunt some fabric down this week. Here are the fun things that I found. This first one is just a cute remnant that I am going to use for some burp cloths.

I saw this fabric and it was super on sale and I LOVE it. I am going to use for a wrap skirt that I have been wanting to make for a year. I hope I actually get around to making it. Doesn't this fabric make you think of summer?
Finally this is a new fabric that I have not seen before in the store and just had to buy it to make a breastfeeding cover. I also saw a really cute small trellis in lime green that would coordinate really well with this, could be great for an apron or a set of burp cloths or something else.
This makes me so excited to get sewing again, lets hope that this desire sticks around long enough for me to get things finished.

Happy to be back and hope to have a few fun posts for you next week.
