Mini Apron
Every kid needs an apron right? This was a giveaway item from probably about a year ago. I made this apron and the mom loved it and hopefully the kiddo is getting a lot of use out of it. I know kids love to help mom cook in the kitchen and so this is the perfect addition to many kitchens. I have a whole slew of Mommy and Me apron sets cut and ready to sew. Those would actually make cute Mother's Day presents. Maybe those with a box of chocolate?! :)
Sorry this post is short today. It was a rough weekend and I did a bunch around the house today. Time to go to bed.

What I Wore #18
Today was still a bit chilly from the rainy and cloudy day we had yesterday so I was not sure what to pull out of the closet. I have yet to wear this dress so I thought it would be a good option; short sleeved to cool me down but sweater dress to warm me up. Perfect combination on a cool day when you will be only wearing your outfit for a total of two hours. Sometimes I wish I could wear it longer, and I guess I could but I might feel a bit silly wearing a dress all day when I have to get down on the floor a million times a day to change diapers, read books, and play. This dress is awesome because it was from Target on super steal for 3 buck!! Yes 2.98 something and tax and I could not pass it up. I was so glad that it fit and I can't wait to wear it again. I guess I only have a few more weeks until wearing a sweater dress looks silly. There is always this fall to feature it again. The leggings helped with the cool air and for me that was too much white leg to show of so early in the season (maybe too much leg for me all together). I was going to wear boots which would have been cute but too hot so I went for the simple black flats. I was the perfect temperature all mass long which is good because these days when I overheat I feel like I could faint. Not good when holding a baby.
I hope you are having a great Sunday. Please continue to pray for my Father-in-law who is in the hospital.

Quick Takes #13
1. Please say a prayer for my Father-in-law. He has not been feeling well and fell today and was taken to the hospital. He has cellulitis and is on antibiotics in the hospital. Much better than we thought, which was a broken hip, but still very scary. Please say a prayer that he recovers quickly and makes it home. Also for all of the family (one member might be traveling to see him) that this just bring everyone closer together.
2. Sweet baby squirrel is getting FOUR top teeth at the same time. Yeah crazy. What is more crazy than that is that the top left tooth next to the front tooth has cut the gum first. It looks like he has a fang. haha I hate to say it but it is creepy and cute at the same time. yes I am that mom that has to show it to everyone. Even those who probably don't care to see it. You are included. Here is a picture.
creepy cute right?! Poor baby too many teeth at the same time.
3. So a skirt that you might have seen a while ago that I tried to wear with orange tights I revamped and ooopsed. Is that a word? I didn't really like the way the skirt fit and so I took in the sides (see before picture was after I took it in some) but I still didn't like how it looked so I wanted to take more in from the sides. I did that and was all excited to use my serger. While sewing along the thread was acting up and I was trying to fix it while sewing and I accidentally cut though the front of the skirt!!! AAHH I was so upset. That is what happens when you are up late sewing. So I calmed down a bit before throwing it away and realized I can totally patch it and make it look even better! I went to the local Hobby Lobby and picked out a few options for patches and went with the one below. I actually really like it and I think that it adds a little something to the skirt. Do you agree?
4. Has anyone gone Contra dancing? It is sort of like square dancing but a bit faster with more spinning. My husband and I (and a bunch of friends) used to go before we got married and a few times after and just haven't gotten a chance to go with two kids. My cousin was in town and she mentioned before she came in town that she loves to go contra dancing so I said we should go. It was a blast and now I want to be sure that we go dancing more often.
5. So speaking of how bad that outfit above is (and you know it is, even though you only got a small peek) I have been trying to work on my clothing. I don't know why but figuring out what to wear every day is part of feeling good, even when I don't have time to take a shower. I need to go through and get rid of the stuff that doesn't fit, or is too old, and figure out what I need to buy. I have a ton of nice work clothes, that I don't know if I can swing as a stay at home mom. So I need help. Not sure how that is going to happen....but let me know if you want to come over and help me sort.
7. Finally, I had to get a new credit card because a local business got hacked and our numbers were stolen and someone in nyc was buying drugs at cvs (or maybe a bunch of makeup). Such a pain to switch that stuff out. Maybe I should try using the envelope system of budgeting and only use cash?! Ok no I know I would spend more money if I had cash to burn in my pocket. Sorry this last one was so boring...I guess I had nothing better to talk about.

New Fabric/New Find Friday #130
I guess I should have posted this fabric set in fall! Well at least today feels like fall outside, a bit chilly and rainy. I actually don't mind that but I can't wait for the warmer sunnier days coming up. The top print has a great combination of bright blue, orange and army green to make a great fall print. Out of the ordinary and great! The second fabric reminds me of an awesome tee shirt I have, maybe that is why I picked this up. I love the way the dots gather at one side of the fabric and then spread out as they go across the fabric. lovely. Finally there is yellow and pinky mauve dot fabric. A great stash building fabric.
They look so yummy all stacked together. I don't remember which designer's these are but I just love them and now I just need to find something great to use them for.
Have a great weekend!

"A" Grey and Pink Floral Onesie and Leggings
I was hopping this super cheesy title would get your attention. Did it work?! :) This is yet another cute set of leggings with an initial onesie and I just love that pink flower popping out on the A. Fun polka-dot leggings so reminiscent of the 80's but at the same time totally modern in color and size.
The large print fabric is a perfect balance to the dot leggings, grey is slowly becoming one of my favorite colors. Could it be because it makes my hair look less grey! HA
This is a quick post today but I think you are more here for the pictures than words so I hope you enjoy gazing at that cute set and I will see you in a few days.

Happy Earth Day!
I am usually a big Earth Day celebrant but as I grow older I realize the importance of taking care of our family, ourselves, and where we live. There are a few ways I try to do that and one of the simple ways is by doing the three R's, reduce, reuse and recycle. :) That phrase takes me back to jr high and recycling is the one thing is so easy to do that when I wasn't doing it I felt really badly about it. I mean they sort it for me all I have to do is throw it in a bin!
This onesie you have seen before here but I wanted to bring it to your attention again since it is earth day and this is the only thing that I have that I feel like fits into this wonderful day some really like to celebrate. I was inspired to make this by a friend of mine and her love for recycling. We would talk about it when on vacation in foreign countries and her kiddos know all about how to recycle at a young age. Love the play on words about being green and recycling and the fact that this is printed on a green onesie. Shameless plug...you can pick one up for yourself here.
We also cloth diaper, try to upcycle and thrift a lot of items we are needing, and I also TRY to eat local, organic, whole foods and don't put chemicals into my body. Try being the key word as sometimes it just doesn't happen. I hope that we can start a garden one day and start composting soon. I hate how much garbage we throw away each day! Have to take care of this beautiful world that God gave us and love it as a reflection of His love for us.

What I Wore #17
This was one of the best weekends and that is why I am just now getting to this Sunday post. Why was it a great weekend? It was my birthday on Friday and who doesn't enjoy having a weekend birthday; plus I got a chance to leave my house with my husband! We watched a movie (my favorite thing to do) on Friday night, went dancing (both of us love it) Saturday, and to the Botanical Garden during the day. Not only that but everyone was good at Mass and the weather was wonderful. I just wish we had been able to spend time with my family, there is always next weekend.I can't wait to post more about it but do you see those flowers and bird bath in the background?! That is new and I am so excited about them and love going out to enjoy and water the plants. That is a big deal because normally I don't really like yard work and we haven't had plants in front of the house for 10 years now; it makes our house look so cute.
On to the outfit. It was bright out and I haven't perfected my open eyes toward the bright sun look yet. All I have to say is that I was so glad that it was going to be warmer that I had to wear a skirt but it was still a bit chilly so I made sure to put the jacket and light scarf on to help keep me warm in church. Such a comfortable outfit and the long skirt was perfect for dancing (yes I did just put on the same thing that I wore out to dancing). Yes we did contra dancing so that is why it is more of a long flowing skirt perfect for lots of swinging and turning. PS. contra dancing is a lot like square dancing and don't knock it before you try it.

Star Wars Onesies- Yet Another Set
Yes, yes, here they are again those star wars onesies that I keep posting. They don't look too different but I feel like I should keep posting them, If nothing else to have a record of all of the colors I have made. Here we have another pink one and a putty colored one. I love the way it looks putty looks and is very gender neutral in case that is what you are needing for baby. I have used this putty colored ink on yellow striped onesies before and still think that would be a great way to update colored onesies. I hope these star wars fans like their new onesies.
I think I only have a few more of these to show you....I am slowly wrapping up 2012 and moving on to what I made in 2013, and guess what I already made some this year! I need to come up with new titles for these posts don't I?

Breastfeeding Cover-Maroon Floral
This breastfeeding cover was made from an Amy Butler fabric, and you know I love her fabric, so it was both wonderful and sad to make this item. Wonderful because her fabrics are so easy to sew, the quality is good, and I am so glad that someone will get to enjoy this fabric as much as I do. Sad because another pretty fabric that I was stashing is going away. I am proud of myself for letting this one go and I need to do this more often! I only have 5 more bins of fabric that I need to start cutting into but I they are just so pretty that I hate to do it.
I think this fabric is just so bold and lovely and fits the description "cute, free-spirited, and kinda hippie-like" that was used to help me narrow down the fabric choices to a few for the client to choose from.

What I Wore #16
Today was a great day! Beautiful weather, we made it to Mass on time, and now everyone is sleeping (which they refused to do yesterday). Yippe. I will make this quick so that I can move on and enjoy the rest of my Sunday with family. I bought this skirt while pregnant and working so I am not sure if it screams working nine to five but I still love it. The sweater is one that has been around but who doesn't need a good black cardi right? The tank I bought with the skirt and it has worked well under other jackets so it is a great buy, plus it worked well for nursing. I am glad to finally wear some skirts and shoes with no tights, these peep toe shoes are wedges so they are super comfortable. A co-worker of mine had a pair like these and said how great they were so I had to get a pair for myself. Now that I no longer work outside the home this skirt will have to be more of a Sunday/Shower skirt instead of an everyday skirt. I still like it and as you can tell it is totally my style (aka knee length pencil skirt). ;)
Oh then there is that cutie that refused to move, he is rocking his Easter clothes and I love them! Look at those pools that he has for eyes.

New Fabric/New Find Friday #129
April showers bring May flowers. A few floral print fabric after the rain we have been having makes me happy. The first fabric is a new fabric but has a vintage modern twist to it. Is that possible to be vintage and modern? I my mind, yes. ;) The second fabric screams bathing suit cover up. Maybe I will make something for our trip to Florida. The last fabric I thought I really liked when I picked it up but then after looking at it a bit more I am not sure about it. I think it would be great in small spaces, maybe a letter on a onesie or small square on a quilt. Not sure if I would like it for a large area.
Loving the pops of color and how great they look together. I am so excited that the flowers are starting to bloom and the leaves are on the trees. It is starting to really look like spring.
Hope you have a great weekend and that it is warm where you are too.

Z is for...
Zebra...and Zoe. I made this shirt for my Goddaughter; she and some other friends are often times my guinea pigs as I try new items and new ways of doing things. This time I wanted to try the foil technique with screen printing. This picture makes it look awesome and it was cool but I need to ask how it held up because I had a hard time getting some areas to stick.
There is always a learning curve with a new medium and I think I need to figure out how to use the glue that comes with this and maybe even find a different kind. It was drying so quickly that I could barely get the foil on in time. I do love the way it looks and I think it would be awesome for small detail and accents on certain items.
I hope to play around with this a bit more. Does anyone have something they would like to see in metallic?

Quick Takes #12
I typed this quick takes up last week right before I realized there would be no quick takes last week. So sorry if some of this is a week behind.
1. I saw this organizing challenge blog post that I am going to take it on as well. 30 Days of Cleaning out your house! LOVE IT. I have been on a cleaning/organizing kick since we have had the basement put back together and I can not wait to go through small parts of my house every day and get rid of/organize it. My husband will thank me and with quicker cleaning I will thank me too. I already have my list of 40 areas ready and be sure to check back in May to see how I did.
2. Speaking of this post she also talks about a fabric swap! I would be there in a second if I lived closer so maybe some local friends of mine and I need to arrange a fabric swap. How fun would that be? Pull out all of the pieces you aren't going to use and pick up something new that you know you will use. Might help my fabric hording tendencies....maybe not since nothing will actually be going away.
3. I hate you girl scout cookies you make me want to eat the whole box. All week I have walking past the cookies and most of the time I can stop myself from eating them but when I eat one it is over. I have to go back and have another and maybe another. The key is to keep them out of my house.
4. Speaking of food we saw a Dr. about Bee's staph and yeast and we have a nutritional plan of action. We started it a few weeks ago and I am already seeing results, just from giving him vitamins etc not cutting out some food that was making it worse. Now it is time to learn how to cook so we can all eat the same good and yummy food. Time to make more trips to Whole Foods.
5. Tomorrow is Easter Egg hunt time! This will be our second year going to the same park and I can't wait to get more cute pictures, this time of the two boys. Let's just hope the rain stays away. Here is a picture from last year.
6. Speaking of Easter, did I ever tell you that Easter is my favorite holiday? I might have way back a long time ago in another blog post. The reason might just be because I was born on Easter. The hope and joy of Christ's Resurrection is just so beautiful to me. I hope to help my littles love it just as much as I do.
7. humm I can't think of anything for this number seven. Hum maybe just that I would like to continue with some of my Lenten resolutions after lent. One of them being to read the daily readings from Mass. I would love to actually go to daily mass once or twice a week but I am not sure how the two littles will handle it...or how I will handle it with out backup. We do not do food at Church. We might try going on Saturday a.m. as a family also so that they are used to going more than once a week. I would love to hear if any of you have any recommendations.

Mr. G?
These two sets of onesies work perfectly for the leggings. Something about argyle screams business to me, probably because my dad wore argyle but the leggings mixed with the tie are perfect. Make a little baby look like a little man. The G onesie was also part of the set but the funny story behind that is that the client accidentally gave me the wrong initial! She didn't realize until she got it in the mail and I felt badly for her but she was nice enough to pay for another one. I didn't take a picture of the new onesie but I just had to post this one because I like this fabric so much. Mixes blues and greens together, my two favorite colors.
Well a quick and simple post for this Wednesday. The kiddos and I took a nice walk today and I guess that tired them out because they both crashed after lunch for a few hours. I just got to sit in silence (ok so I might have watched a little tv) it was nice.

Robin's Egg Blue Stripe
Nothing too exciting about this breastfeeding cover. I had an order for a cover and matching burp cloth from my cousin and her coworker for another coworker. I think she had a little boy and I love how modern and neutral this stripe is but also has a bit of "boy" with the blue stripe. I ended up using the stripe the opposite direction on the burp cloth as I like the stripes running across rather than down the burp cloth. The combination of robin's egg blue, khaki, and lime green together are unexpected but work well together.
I will be working on a few more of these in the coming weeks so be prepared for more!
PS. I just realized this was taken a day before the basement flood last summer, see how behind I am on project posts.

What I Wore #15
Happy Easter!!! The day has come and gone too quickly but man it was a great one! Beautiful weather, wonderful family, and food. This picture above is the only good picture I have of Easter, and it is actually the kids milestone pics taken at the local Target. Yeah I know, epic picture taking fail. The boys were wearing a combination of seersucker pieces that were gifted or thrifted and I pulled them together to make their outfits; the bow ties I made. You will see those on the blog here a bit later. Please follow along below as I try to show you what I and the hubby were wearing. Can you see the picture I spliced together? Yes sad. SO you see the pink pants and shoes on the left side of this picture. I was so excited that these finally fit (and all of my spring dresses are not nursing accessible) so I went with pink pants. They scream Easter. The shoes are from my friend's wedding last year and they were perfect and didn't hurt until hour 5 of wearing them. They did get some water stains so now I need to see if I can bleach them or even dye them another colors. Any thoughts? Teal?
On the right side of the picture you see my top (well you can sort of see it). I was wearing an off white 3/4 sleeved silk blazer. It has a cute bow set off to the side on the top left shoulder. LOVE IT. I don't get to wear it much but it was perfect with the pants. The nursing tank helped the whole outfit work for me. I hope to be able to wear a dress again next year. ;)
Finally, my husband was wearing a new cream linen suit that I bought him for Christmas. He was so excited to wear it and I wish I had a picture because he looked great in it. He wore a blue and red bow tie with his blue shirt.
Finally one more shot just to prove that he was excited about hunting for eggs...after the day before he wanted nothing to do with them. ;)
It was a great Triduum full of Mass and recollection and a break from all things blogging and sewing. I hope to have more fun things for you this month of April. I start spring cleaning today!
FINALLY...
